Busuanga Island is located in the province of Palawan and is the largest island of the Calamian group. It is also the second largest island in the whole province after Palawan itself. Busuanga Island is situated half way between Mindoro and Palawan. In 2010 the island counted a population of 64,299 people. The eastern two-thirds of the island belong to the well known municipality Coron whereas the western third belongs to Busuanga.

Busuanga Island is very much known among divers because of the World War II Japanese Wrecks which were sunk by American navy bombings in Coron bay on September 24, 1944.

Every year many divers fly into Busuanga airport; most of them stay in Coron town from where they start their daily diving adventures.
